Bobbi Brown Bridal Make Up Lesson Review

As you probably know by now (mostly because I won't shut up about it on Twitter and Instagram) I am getting married this year and one of the biggest things I was worried about when I started planning was my make up on the day. I have very very pale skin (like seriously, really pale) so usually if I get my make up done professionally I don't like it as I feel I look too orange or that the make up just doesn't suit me, as only a few brands offer make up in pale enough shades for me. I am no make up artist, far from it, but I decided that to ensure I was happy with the look and to save money I would do my own wedding make up. This is where my good friend Bobbi Brown comes in...

I am always raving about BB products so when I found out that they offered a bridal make up lesson I thought this sounded perfect. I know BB make up suits my skin and the natural finish is perfect for what I want for my wedding. The lesson was an hour and a half long and I had mine with Wenlan at the Bobbi counter in Harrods. She was lovely and talked me through each step, not only telling me what she was doing but checking that I understood the techniques she was using and why.

Here's a list of all the make up products she used on me...

♥ Corrector in Porcelain Bisque
♥ Concealer in Porcelain
♥ Foundation stick in porcelain
♥ Nude finishing powder in porcelain
♥ Bronzer in golden light
♥ Lipstick in sandwash pink
♥ Lip liner in ballet pink
♥ Long wear brow gel in grey
♥ Eyeshadow in shell and antique rose
♥ Chocolate shimmer ink eyeliner

Bobbi Brown says that on your wedding day your make up should 'look like yourself, only your most beautiful', which is exactly how I felt after the lesson. I looked like myself, the make up wasn't over the top but I felt like my features were enhanced and made to look their best. I ended up buying all of the make up I tried, which in total came to about £220, but luckily I had a store gift card with £200 on it so I only had to pay £20 in total! I've practiced the make up once since I got everything and was really pleased with it. I added in a few other of my staple products including the Laura Mercier oil free primer, Anastasia Beverly Hills brow wiz and highlighter, urban decay eye primer potion and urban decay all nighter setting spray. Overall I'd definitely recommend the bridal beauty lesson for brides to be! And if you're not getting married then Bobbi Brown offer loads of other make-up lessons also!

My Minnie Mouse Hen Do

So last weekend was pretty fun, because it was my hen do! I have recently moved out of London and back up north, however I travelled down to the capital for the occasion as it's where most of my hens live so it made sense (and also because London has ALL the cool things to do for hens!). The day was planned by one of my bridesmaids, Daisy, and I knew I could trust her as she is a super planner. I was told to wear black or red so I chose a red dress from Asos. When I arrived at our first venue I was given a pair of Minnie Mouse ears, a veil and sash! I loved the Minnie Mouse theme, what could be better than a Disney hen?!

Our first activity was crazy golf at Swingers, which is an indoor golf course where you can drink cocktails as you go round! I was quick to get my first mojito of the day (which definitely hindered my golfing ability!) and we all had fun going round the course. We had some lunch at Swingers afterwards as they have some amazing eateries including Pizza Pilgrims (the pizza was to die for!) and Patty & Bun. Next we moved onto Aqua Spirit which is just off Regent Street to have a drink before our next activity.

We then all headed over to BYOC (bring your own cocktail) in Soho which was so much fun. The idea is that every person takes a bottle of alcohol and for 2 hours you have a dedicated mixologist who makes cocktails from all the spirits you have brought and the array of mixers, syrups and fruit they provide. Let's just say the cocktails were pretty strong and we were all extremely drunk by the end!

But we didn't stop there! After BYOC we headed to Grace Bar in Piccadilly for more drinks and some dancing, and finally onto Strawberry Moons (after a pit stop at McDonalds to re-fuel, of course). I had such a fantastic night with all the girls and it just made me even more excited for the wedding! Not long to go now...

Disney Pandora Charms

I couldn't go to Florida and not get some of the Disney charms for my pandora bracelet! I've wanted some of these charms for ages but unfortunately you can only get them in America (come on pandora UK...we need them here!). There is so much choice I really struggled deciding which ones to get, and I easily could have got more. The first charm I got was the Minnie Mouse head, which I'd seen on the pandora website and knew I wanted. Olly's parents kindly gave me some dollars as my birthday present so I used them to buy this.

The next charm I got was the enamel Snow White dress. I absolutely love the princess dress charms they are so super cute but it's so difficult to choose which one to get! Snow White isn't actually my favourite princess (Belle is) but I just love the Snow White dress and think it's very iconic, so it won me over and also adds a nice pop of colour to my bracelet.

The final charm I got was the Disney castle. I wasn't sure about this at first as I thought it was too big but when I saw it in person I fell in love and knew it would fit perfectly with the rest of my bracelet. Olly bought this one for me as an extra birthday present.

And here's what my bracelet is looking like so far, I wouldn't say it has a 'theme' but all the charms are very fairytale! Have you got any of the Disney Pandora charms?

I'm Getting Married!

It's been a while since I've blogged but I have been so busy recently! Anyway I wanted to let you all know that I've got some pretty exciting news, I guess the title was a bit of a giveaway! Yep that's right, Olly asked me to marry him! We have been together for 2 and a half years but we've actually known each other for almost 9 years.

We went for a picnic in Richmond park a few weeks ago (which actually turned out to be the hottest day of the year so far, so perfect picnic weather!) and Olly got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. We love going for picnics in Richmond park and have a little secluded spot we always go to, so that made it extra special. We then ate lots of food and drank lots of prosecco! Olly knows that I would want to choose my own engagement ring so he proposed with a beautiful floral Pandora ring and then let me choose my own 'proper ' ring.

Since then I have been in full on wedding planning mode and have already booked the church, reception, photographer, florist, furniture, sent out all invitations, sorted all the bridesmaids dresses, sorted all the groomsmens and grooms suit...phew! I am an extremely organised and decisive person so planning a wedding seems to come naturally to me! Let me know if you have any wedding planning tips, I'd love to know.

Summer Flowers With Prestige

I'm not one to turn down an opportunity to review a bunch of flowers, especially when they are as beautiful as this lovely bouquet from Prestige Flowers. I chose to review the bouquet of 40 roses as I loved the mix of colours and I was not disappointed when they arrived. The gorgeous mix of orange, yellow, fuchsia, red and white roses make these the perfect flowers for summer and they have certainly brightened up our flat over the past few days.

I was really impressed with the delivery, I ordered on Thursday and asked for Saturday delivery as I am out at work during the day and they were delivered at 9.30am which meant there was no waiting around for them to arrive. They were packaged in a big cardboard box so they were well protected and I was also impressed that the delivery man managed to find out flat (which has proved extremely difficult when getting flowers and parcels delivered previously!). So all in all a very easy and hassle free process. This particular bunch costs £34.99 usually but there is a special offer on at the moment which means they're only £19.99, what a bargain! And what's better is that you get a little box of chocolates free with every order, and what girl doesn't love flowers and chocolate?! I'd definitely recommend Prestige Flowers if you're looking to order flowers online. What's your favourite type of flowers?

A Sephora Haul

It's a fact that you can't go to America without spending an obscene amount of money at Sephora, which is exactly what I did in Florida. I had a list of a couple of bits that I wanted but as usual that increased once I was in store!

The first section I headed for was all the Beauty Blenders. I've been using my beauty blender for about 6 months now and can't imagine life without it however I have neglected it a little bit so it was time to invest in a new one. There were loads of different colours available and I decided on the limited edition 'red carpet' in the end. It's the same as the regular pink BB, just in a pretty red! I also got the solid cleaner as this will ensure I keep the sponge looking nice and new. Finally from BB I bought the new liner designer which I'm super excited to try. It is a flat piece of silicone that you use when applying your eyeliner to create the perfect winged effect. There are 3 different ways you can use it. Goodbye to uneven eyeliner!

I bought quite a few different lip products as I am loving trying different lipsticks recently. I went straight to Anastasia Beverly Hills as I've been wanting one of her liquid lipsticks foreverrrr. Unfortunately most of the colours were sold out which was a shame but I did manage to get my hands on the gorgeous Sarafine shade, which is perfect for me as I love a bright red lip. I also bought the lip primer from ABH which will hopefully help keep the lipstick in place all day. The next lipstick I bought was from the limited edition Minnie Mouse range. The whole range is so cute and I love he packaging, again I couldn't resist the classic red. How cute is the little Minnie head on the actual lipstick?! Finally for lip products I bought the Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme. My friend asked me to pick one of these up for her as she'd read great reviews so I got one too. Three words...Kylie Jenner lips!

I am a bit of a mascara obsessive, so when I found this set of 5 miniature best selling mascaras I was very excited to try some new brands. I've already tried Lancome Hypnose and Benefit They're Real but I've heard great things about Too Faced Better Than Sex. Of course I had to stock up on my holy grail product - ABH Brow Wiz, although ya know what I worked out it's not any cheaper to buy in the US! I also got the clear brow gel to keep my brows in place and looking their best all day!

So there we go, my (big) Sephora haul! Have you tried any of these products before? What would you like to try from Sephora?

What I Bought From Walt Disney World

So I'm just about adjusting to life back in London after spending 2 wonderful weeks in Florida and I thought I'd do a little haul post to show you some of the goodies I picked up whilst at Walt Disney World! I literally spent all of the spending money I took...every last penny, and I could have spent more! My favourite item I picked up has got to be my Chip mug. Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney film and I couldn't wait to get one of these from Disney Springs. I still haven't decided whether I'll drink out of it yet or just use it as an ornament?

I couldn't go to Disney and not feed my Tsum Tsum addiction so I picked up these 3 cuties. I had planned to get the WDW Park limited edition Tsum's (monorail, train etc) but they didn't have them anymore which I was gutted about! I got Rapunzel as I didn't have her yet, Duffy and the bride from the Haunted Mansion who is pretty cool! To be honest there weren't many Tsum Tsum's around in Florida I don't think they're that big in America, they had a really poor selection in Target and JC Penney's which was disappointing.

How awesome is this Disney Monopoly?! We didn't plan on getting this but we saw it at the toy shop in Disney springs and thought it was too cool not to get. I think every family needs a monopoly board and it just so happens ours is Disney! It has a pop up castle in the middle of the game and the pieces are Disney characters such as Mickey and Minnie. The board is based around the parks so you buy rides instead of towns and if you build a hotel the piece is a Disney castle!

I couldn't believe how many pin badges there were, I knew they were popular but not this popular! I don't collect the pins ( this space) but I thought this one was way cute so had to pick it up. Some of the pins can be pretty expensive but I thought this one was pretty special.

Olly loves any kind of 'mystery' purchase, so when he saw this mystery princess pin set he really wanted to buy it for me, even though I'm usually really against these as I always end up with the rubbish characters. Basically Olly just likes seeing my reaction when I get the bad ones because I act like a baby haha. Anyway I did pretty well with this pack (it was tense) as I got Rapunzel and Pocahontas, neither of them are my favourite Disney characters but I like them both so I was happy.

And finally our Disney Magic Bands. We weren't staying at a Disney resort so we didn't get these free but mine was only $12.99 and Olly's was $22.99 (because his has Mickey printed on it - mine is plain) which I didn't think was bad at all considering how convenient they are. I'm going to do a full pot on tips for WDW so I'll talk more about these then and what they can be used for but they basically replace your ticket so you don't have to keep getting it out.
