What's On My Dressing Table: July

First of all yes Cinderella now lives on my dressing table! Haha. This Cinderella doll was a birthday present from Olly and after months of keeping her in the box because I didn't know where to put her she has found her rightful place to my dressing table...so she now lives here and looks all pretty, yay! I know she has nothing to do with beauty but this post is about things on my dressing table, and she's on the dressing table and looks super pretty, so she deserves a feature :)

1. Rimmel Nail Varnishes - I saw these pretty nail varnishes in Boots and thought I would give them a go since they were on offer. The colours are lovely are perfect some summer but I was a little disappointed with them. I don't usually stray from my beloved Essie but I was lured in by the cheap Rimmel price. From now on I think I'll stick to Essie, quality over quantity guys

2. Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge - I have been thinking about getting a Beauty Blender ever since my new Bobbi Brown serum foundation matted by beloved Bobbi Brown foundation brush and now it won't clean :( so I thought a sponge might be the answer, but £20 seemed quite steep for what is effectively a sponge. My friend told me that she had used both the Beauty Blender and Real Techniques version and thought they were pretty much the same so would recommend the Real Techniques version. At £6 it's much more affordable and so far so good :) would definitely recommend this if you use a serum foundation

3. Benefit Skincare - My mum got me this little set as a birthday present but I've only just started using it as previously I've been using Glamglow and don't like to use too many products at once as my skin gets confused! I've been using this for a few weeks now and really like it, my skin feels so soft and smooth and it smells amazing. Another great product from Benefit

4. L'Occitane Shampoo & Conditioner - These little minis were free with Harpers Bazaar this month and as I love L'Occitane products I thought this was the perfect opportunity to try their hair range. I am very particular about which shampoos as I used as 1. I have really really long hair and 2. I live in London where the water is just awful and makes your hair all frizzy and crazy. I'm going to save these for my holiday as they're the perfect travel size but can't wait to use them

What products have you been using this month?

Tsum Tsum Goodies

Who isn't loving Disney Tsum Tsum right now? I tend to get obsessed with things and I think tsum tsums are my 'thing' right now - so this led me to buy many tsum tsum goodies over recent weeks which I thought I would share

Daisy Tsum Tsum Lip Balm - Absolutely love this! Was super excited when I found it. The packaging is so cute I don't want to open it. You can get lots of different characters but I chose Daisy cos she's my fave. It's similar to an Eos lip balm which are really popular right now. You can find the lip balm here
Tsum Tsum Sticker Markers - These are so cute to mark pages in your notebook or diary, I use these to keep all my blog notes organised. Find them here
Donald and Daisy iPhone cover - I actually ordered this for an iPhone 5 even though I have an iPhone 6...duh! So I don't actually know what I will do with this? Haha silly me, maybe I will have to order another?! There are lots of different characters to choose from but I went for the super cute Donald and Daisy. Find the phone cover here
Tsum Tsum fabric - I used this to make a Tsum Tsum skirt, you can read about it here

If you want to find more tsum tsum goodies then do a little search on Etsy or Ebay, there's loads of stuff (most of which I want!)

Korean Cosmetics Haul

Last month I wrote a post about the Tony Moly cosmetics I had bought which proved very popular so I thought I'd write a post about my most recent Korean cosmetics purchases. As usual my purchases are driven by the packaging! Who knew a hand cream could look so cute? I tend to buy all my Korean cosmetics from the amazing Bits and Bobs of Beauty - they have great stock that is always changing, but be quick because it sells out. They are based in the UK so their delivery is also super quick and free which is always a bonus.

Etude House My Castle hand cream in 'pink wish' - a hand cream shaped like a house? How could I say no! It smells lovely and leaves my hands feeling super soft and moisturised

Holika Holika Bloom In Multi Balm in 'Focus Well' - this is a multi balm which means you can use it for whatever you want really. I've mainly been using it as a lip balm but it's also great for any dry skin areas you have, such as elbows. It has a nice fresh fragrance which is a bit minty

Tony Moly Kiss Kiss Lovely Lip Patch - this seems crazy but I can't wait to use it. It's a lip patch that you leave on for 15-20 minutes and then your lips should be all smooth, soft and kissable. It also seems really big compared to the size of my lips and I'm sure it will cover half my face haha

It's Skin Babyface Petite Blusher in 'lavender' - again, incredible packaging! I wasn't sure on the lavender colour for this (I wanted the pink but it had sold out) as I have pale skin but it's not a strong lavender. It comes with a little powder puff which is good for if you want to take it in your handbag

Holika Holika After Night Overtime Mask - this is a mask that is specifically designed for 'skin dulled by working overtime' I'm not quite sure how the mask can tell if I've been working overtime or not but anyway I liked the cute cartoon girl on the front of the packet! This isn't like a normal face mask as it's actually a sheet you place on your face instead of a paste. I'm not sure if it did wonders for my skin but my face definitely looked brighter afterwards

Holika Holika Pig-nose clear black head perfect sticker - not gonna lie I bought this because the name is amazing haha. I also love the polka dot packaging with the little pig nose picture. I think this is just like one of those black head clearing strips that you apply to your nose and leave for 10-15 minutes

The lovely people at Bits and Bobs of beauty also sent me 2 free samples which was very nice of them, I got...

Etude House Winter Prood Cheeks Patch - super cute little heart shaped patches to soothe and moisturise red and irritated cheeks, we all know this feeling during winter!

Beauty Clinic Dr. For Skin Collagen Peelaser - this is a collagen peelaser cleansing cream, I must admit I'm a little bit scared of anything that includes the word 'peel' so may try it on my arm or something first

I hope you enjoyed this post! Have you tried any of these cosmetics or are there any Korean cosmetics you would recommend?

Kawaii Box: June

First of all sorry for posting 2 box reviews within a week :( but I received my Japan Candy Box and Kawaii Box on the same day and I'd already scheduled my posts for that week, and then I had to re-arrange them all and try and fit these in and then I got stressed and then ended up posting 2 in one week...oops.

Anyway this month was my third and final kawaii box from my 3 month subscription that Olly bought me for my birthday :( I must say it was one of the best presents I've ever received and I loved the fact that it lasted for months after my birthday! I would definitely recommend it as a gift for someone.

So what was in this months box?

Cute guys stationery set
Kawaii bean mini plush
Hello Kitty pen
Alpaca bag charm
Ice cream stickers
Korean nail art set
Smiling poop sharpener
Strawberry squishy charm
Cute animals pill box
Sushi pluggy charm
Animal sticky notes
Kracie bubble jelly DIY candy

There seemed to be so many goodies in this months box! There was actually the same amount as usual but maybe because a lot of the items were so big it felt very full indeed. As usual I'm loving the stickers...more stickers for the old computer screen (I won't be able to see the screen soon!). My other faves from this box include the Alpaca bag charm just cos it's super damn cute and the cute animals pill box - I don't know what I'll put in it but I'm sure I'll find something super kawaii to store in there (maybe all my nail charms?).

I'm really excited to try the bubble jelly DIY candy, I am loving Japanese DIY candy at the moment and this one seems quite easy. I'm also a bit fan of the Hello Kitty pen, I've been using the pegasus pen that I received in the April box to write down all my blog notes but this might become my new blogging pen! You can buy the Kawaii Box here

What's your favourite item from this moths box?

6 Things That Are Making Me Happy This Month: July

1. Wildfox Bikini - I bought this lovely Wildfox bikini in the summer sales and can't wait to wear it on holiday - I love the colour and the writing on the back of the bottoms

2. Strawberry Picking - I love going strawberry picking in the summer, it reminds me of being a kid. They always taste so fresh and yummy

3. Birthday Party - It was Olly's birthday at the end of June and I threw him a little surprise party with cake, balloons and Pimms cider. Ok so technically this was last month but if I still have all the balloons and decorations hanging around in my living room then it counts as this month no? Haha

4. Pretty Cards - I picked up these pretty cards recently from Oliver Bonas, they're for no particular reason other than I like the colours and the quotes

5. Candy Floss Marshamallows - I was pretty excited when I found these marshmallows as I am a sucker for anything with the words 'candy floss' written on it. They are so yummy and I just love the packaging

6. Frozen Cereal - Amazing packaging, unfortunately doesn't taste great :( They lured me in with the Disney characters. I'll be sticking to Lucky Charms from now on

What's making you happy this month? :)

Japan Candy Box: June

If you are a regular reader of my blog then you will know that for the past couple of months I have been receiving the Kawaii Box, which I have been loving, so when I saw that Blippo were also bringing out a new Japan Candy Box I got very excited! I actually ended up receiving my June kawaii box and candy box on the same day and it literally felt like my birthday haha.

The Japan Candy Box is really similar to the kawaii box in that it is a monthly subscription service filled with lots of goodies - although all of these goodies are edible! If you have a sweet tooth like me then you will definitely enjoy this. So what did I receive in my first box?

Kabaya Fish Gummies
Popin' Cookin' Neri Candy Land DIY Kit
Pokemon Pikachu Pretzels
Meiji Petit Bubblegum
Puccho Mixed Fruit Chewy Candy
Marukawa Fusen Bubble Gum
Yaokin Sour Paper Candy
Dorayaki Japanese Hotcake
Meiji Kotsubu Chocolates
Lotte Koala March Biscuits

Now I must admit I got a bit carried away the day I received this and ate like half the box in one go, oops. My favourite things in the box were the Popin' Cookin' DIY Kit as it just looks amazing and so much fun and the Pokemon Pikachu Pretzels as they're similar to Pocky, which I love, and the packaging is super cute. I also have a new found love for Puccho Mixed Fruit Chewy Candy which I got a bit addicted to. It's a bit like a chewit really but with jelly bits inside. Everything in this box was actually really yummy and there wasn't one thing I didn't like!

I love Japanese candy so this box is perfect for me, I would definitely recommend it as it's filled with unusual sweets and treats that you wouldn't be able to buy in the UK. The box is about £12 a month and you can sign up here

What do you think of this months box? Do you love Japanese candy?

My Favourite Summer Bag: Victoria Beckham

It's no secret that I love pink, and in the summer I love using my favourite pink handbag, which is the Victoria Beckham Hexagonal Chain bag. Like many others I was sceptical of the Victoria Beckham handbag range at first, was she just trading on the back of her name? But when I saw the bags in person I could see the amazing quality, and knew that this was an exceptional range of handbags. I would honestly say this is probably the best quality bag I own. The leather is beautiful and the colour is breathtaking (I haven't altered or enhanced the colour on any of these photos). I also love the gold hexagonal chain which compliments the pink leather beautifully - it makes the bag different and a bit edgy. The chain can be worn long or short and the bag can also be used as a clutch as the chain is removable.

Inside there are two large compartments and two slim compartments. I like having lots of compartments and pockets in my bag as it means I can separate my items. Another of my favourite features is the contrast dark colour edging paint on the side which I think makes the bag look really premium. This bag looks great dressed up with a pretty dress, or equally as good dressed down with a pair of jeans. I love a statement handbag as it can bring any outfit to life effortlessly. What's your favourite summer handbag? Do you have a pink bag like me? Also I haven't written a handbag post in a while, do you guys like them or not? :)

Hyper Japan Haul

On Saturday I went to Hyper Japan at the O2 in London, which is an event for lovers of all things Japanese and kawaii. There are shows, demonstrations, food and stalls...lots of stalls! So many stalls that I may have bought a few too many things, oopsie. So I thought I would write a haul post to show you all what I picked up and the stalls I got them from (if I can remember)

Glittery super long false nails - £5 Dreamy Bows
Glittery multi colour 3D false nails - £8 Dreamy Bows
Panda cookie cutters - £6 Tofu Cute
3 kawaii badges - £1 Tofu Cute
Cat page markers - £1.50 Tofu Cute
Korilakkuma bento box - £6 JP Books
Kera magazine - £6 JP Books
Hello Kitty pocky - £1.50 Tofu Cute
Polka dot strawberry pocky - Japan Centre
Choco Banana pocky - £1.50 Tofu Cute
Totoro sweet bread - Japan Centre
Burger DIY candy kit - £6 Tofu Cute
Panda biscuits - Japan Centre

I think my favourite item I bought is the sets of false nails as I just love kawaii nails. I have no idea what I will wear the super long ones for but they are just so pretty and glittery. I am also sooo excited to use the burger DIY candy kit - you even get to make the fries! Although I fear this could go terribly wrong since I can't read Japanese so I will kinda just have to guess how to make them. I might do a few more posts about some specific items I bought, such as the false nails, cookie cutters etc once I've had chance to use them and try them out. Oh also the Totoro sweet bread was amazing - like a donut thing with custard in the middle, who knew Totoro was so delicious?

Panda Nail Art

A few weeks ago I bought some nifty nail art dotting tools and couldn't wait to start creating funky designs with them. The first design I decided to try was cute little kawaii pandas, which I think turned out pretty well considering this was my first attempt!

I used the following nail varnishes...
♥  Essie Blanc'
♥  Burberry 'Poppy Black'
♥  Essie 'Stone n'Roses'
♥  Deborah Lipmann 'On a Clear Day' top coat

1. Paint nails with base coat
2. Paint a white semi circle on the top third of your nail to create the pandas head - I did two coats to make sure the white was nice and solid
3. Use the largest dotter tool to make the ears, eyes and nose with black nail varnish
4. Use a smaller dotter tool to make the white of the panda eye
5. Use the smallest dotting tool to create the pupil of the eye with the black - this can be a bit tricky so you'll need a steady hand!
6. Use a medium size dotter to paint some little rosy cheeks with pink nail varnish
7. Wait until all of the nail varnish is fully dry and then finish with a top coat

Have you tried any cute animal nail art? I'd love to hear if you have!
