What I'd Look Like As An Anime Character

Have you ever wondered what you would look like as an anime character? If you're not familiar with anime it is a style of Japanese cartoon and popular character traits include big eyes and facial expressions. Olly got me into anime when we first started seeing each other and now I love it. For our anniversary in February I commissioned an anime portrait through artist Mair Perkins. Her style is amazing and she is so talented, she was also lovely to work with and sent me pictures of the portait at each stage to keep me up to date with the progress. I sent her a picture of me and Olly (which you can see above for comparison) for her to draw from and also asked her to add in some of the little babies from the film Ponyo, which is one of me and Olly's favourite anime films (it's just coincidence that they look like little Olly's haha).

When the portrait was finished Mair printed it onto A3 paper and posted it to me so I had a physical copy as well as the digital version. I bought a clip frame from Tiger for about £4 to display it in. I love this portrait it is such a unique gift idea for someone who loves anime and Japanese culture and it's something we will keep forever, it also adds a little bit of fun to our flat.

You can check our Mair Perkins website here to view her full gallery which is full of amazing portraits!

Are you a fan of anime or manga? What are your favourite anime films?

  2. Ah I fall in and out of love with Anime. I've been watching Sword Art Online on Netflix recently and really loving it. I'd love to be drawn as an anime character, I have different coloured eyes so I think they'd look cool on in anime. This makes for such a cute gift too, I'll have to make a note for the future.

  10. This article depicts the way toward getting the green light to create a toon enlivened arrangement without any preparation. I am forgetting the points of interest of raising assets for the venture as that is a whole book independent from anyone else, however in any case this ought to give you a smart thought of what it takes for a toon arrangement to get financed and created. navigate here
