Cute Gift Idea: Mini Rainbow Heart Cookies

Recently I found a cook shop near where I live which has an amazing baking section. I was like a kid in a candy shop looking at all the cutters, moulds and edible glitters. Needless to say I came away with about a gazillion packets of icing because I just love making biscuits with icing, and I usually have to order the icing from Amazon. I also bought a cute mini heart cookie cutter and thought I could make the cutest gift for a friends upcoming birthday.

I started by making the heart biscuits using the cutter (you can find the recipe here) and then once cooled I cut out the hearts from the ready to roll icing and stuck them to the biscuits using glace icing. I packaged them in a cute little brown box I bought from Paperchase which was only £1.75, and used a little bit of tissue paper to make it look pretty. I think this is such a cute gift idea and so easy to make! Have you tried making any DIY gifts for friends or family?

  5. This is such a sweet gift idea! I've only ever used Renshaw once before to coat Halloween cupcakes and their icing was fantastic - I'd definitely use them again :)
