My New Years Resolutions: 2016

It is officially 2016! I already prefer 2016 to 2015 because I can't write the number 5 properly which means writing the date has stressed me out for the whole year. Now I can write a 6 instead, lovely curly 6. So here's what I'm gonna do in 2016....

1. Get contact lenses
If I don't write this down I won't do it. I never wear my glasses as I don't like them but when I go to Florida this year (yay I can now say it's this year!) I want to be able to properly see and appreciate everything at Disneyland

2. Visit my parents more
It sucks living so far away from your parents. When I first moved to London I used to see them much more often, but that was when a return train ticket was £40...it's now about £70 and I just can't afford that on a regular basis. It's also a two and half hour train journey (plus an hours tube journey across London to Kings Cross) so if I go for the weekend there's just not enough time

3. Make good investments
I was pretty good at this last year but I want to keep doing it. Basically I want to move away from 'fast fashion' and instead buy fewer, good quality pieces. I also want to continue clearing out and selling any old clothes, shoes and bags I'm not using, it makes me feel so much better when I have a good de-clutter!

4. Be healthier
Again kinda Florida related, but like most people I always eat too much over the winter months so I need to make sure I'm eating a bit better and doing a bit more exercise in the next few months ready for bikini season!

Bring it on 2016, I'm ready for you! have you got any New Years Resolutions?

  1. Definitely a great list you've got going here. Contact lenses are the best! But if you're prone to seasonal allergies like me, definitely get yourself some allergy drops as well to prevent your contact lenses from getting irritated >_<

  4. Great resolutions, good luck :) I want to see my family more too, I live a 3 hour drive away but when the traffic is bad it can be anything for 4-6 hours and its so difficult. Hope you manage to tick them all off though.
    Happy New Year.

  9. Love that you're making it an effort to invest in a few good quality pieces rather than stick with 'fashion fast' -- which is all too easy for me to do! Happy New Year! XO

  10. Oooooo good luck breaking the "Fast Fashion" habit. I saw the documentary "The True Cost" and swore off shopping at fast fasion chain stores, but I'm lucky that I like in Brooklyn & have access to great thrift stores everywhere! They're not always as affordable as I would like, and it's more of a "game" to find something good, but it's so much better for everyone to be a conscious consumer. I strongly recommend the movie (but it's so sad) to strengthen your commitment to ethical shopping & brands. Found you through #lbloggers chat on twitter! meghansara.com

  11. I hope you get to enjoy your time in Florida. I haven't been to Disney in a long time, but maybe I might change that some time soon.
